Rock Island Historic Courthouse Square refurbishing and building a new monument
ROCK ISLAND, Ill (KWQC) On June 5, the Rock Island County Board gave its approval to a plan to renovate the current monuments on Historic Courthouse Square and erect a new monument there. The proposal from Burlington, Iowa-based Leyda, Burrus & Metz (LBM) was accepted by the board by unanimous vote, with four members not present.
QC amateur radio club to host Field Day showcase this weekend
DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) -The River Bend Wireless Operators Club, based in Milan, is a general interest amateur radio club serving the Illinois-Iowa greater Quad Cities area. The club invites the public to join them for the annual Field Day showcase on June 22-23 at the Rock Island County Emergency Operations Center. It begins at 1 p.m. on Saturday and ends at 1 p.m. Sunday.
