MO Department of Conservation offers kindergarten teachers workshop to introduce them to black bear curriculum
Kindergarten teachers are invited to a workshop in Jefferson City to learn all about a new curriculum that focuses on Missouri’s black bears. The Department of Conservation has developed a new curriculum entitled, Kindergarten: Bears Through the Seasons. Media Specialist Maddie Fennewald says the curriculum covers four components of science, including Earth and Space Science, Physical Science, Life Science, and Engineering and Technology Science. And Fennewald says it’s just fun.

Rotarians hear update on Slusher reno plans
Johnnie Davis was the guest speaker at the Tarkio Rotary Club meeting Tuesday, July 16, 2024. Johnnie shared with his fellow Rotarians the new architectural drawings of pro-posed use for Slusher Hall on the Tarkio Tech campus. He noted that Jenison Hall has been renovated and will be dedicated on Friday, July 19, along with the naming and dedication of the Joanne Curnutt and Dean Curnutt Learning Center. Property sales, water and sewer rates on Shen council agenda
(Shenandoah) -- Shenandoah's City Council has a full agenda ahead of it tonight. At its regular meeting at 6 p.m. at Shenandoah City Hall, the council holds public hearings on sales of city-owned properties. City officials propose selling 809 5th Avenue to Hannah Rief for $2,576, 706 9th Avenue to Brian Palmer for $2,000, 301 College Street to Nathan Priest for $400, and properties at 1115 and 1117 West Lowell Avenue to Pierre Taylor for $20. The city also wants to sell 604 Palm Avenue to Ron LaRock for $2,000. Speaking on a recent edition of KMA's "Morning Line" program, Shenandoah Mayor Roger McQueen says it's senseless for the city to continue owning these properties.

The award-winning hotspot, owned by Netflix Drink Masters' Meredith Barry, was named named Best Underrated Bar in America just last year.
