Missouri woman arrested on suspected drug distribution in Osage County
A Missouri woman was arrested on suspected drug distribution charges in Osage County on Monday. Sheriff Chris Wells says the arrest of 37-year-old Kyra Merriman of Kansas City developed after an alleged traffic infraction. An Osage County K-9 unit stopped Merriman at US Highway 75 and 189th Road, about five miles north of Lyndon, and allegedly found illegal narcotics.

SIDNEY, IA - Charitable giving, 4-H enthusiasm, a cherry pie dynasty and the ugliest cake were all recognized Saturday at the Fremont County Fair in Sidney, Ia. The giving included the 4-H program fees for 86 Fremont County members and a $1,100 bid for the fair’s top cherry pie.
Sidney council hears plan for street closures, parking restrictions during Rodeo Days
(Sidney) -- Fremont County law enforcement officials hope to remedy some issues with street closures during Sidney Rodeo Days next weekend. During the Sidney City Council meeting, Fremont County Sheriff Deputy Andrew Wake provided an update on how they plan to enforce the street closures for the Sidney Rodeo Days parade on August 3rd and street parking in busy streets throughout next week. Wake says one of the main issues involved cars remaining parked on the square along the parade route, which he adds can quickly turn into a safety issue.

Council tables West Lowell property sales
(Shenandoah) -- Proposed sales of at least two Shenandoah city-owned properties are on hold. By unanimous votes, the Shenandoah City Council Tuesday night tabled discussion on the sales of 1115 and 1117 West Lowell Avenue to Pierre Taylor for $20 each. Taylor outlined plans for housing development on both properties during public hearings. Taylor's proposal for 1115 West Lowell Avenue calls for construction of a three-bedroom, one bath structure for occupancy by August 1st, 2026. Taylor describes the proposed house as a bungalow-type structure, with a sale price of around $200,000.
