Illuminated anniversary event at Taughannock, postponed from spring, is this weekend
“A planned illumination and guided hike at Taughannock Falls State Park” that was scheduled for three nights in April to commemorate the 100th anniversary of New York State Parks was postponed “out of an abundance of caution” after community members expressed concern for birds nesting at the park and other wildlife. NYS Parks in partnership with the Tompkins Chamber and Visit Ithaca have announced the event will take place this Friday and Saturday, October 4th and 5th.

MONTOUR FALLS, N.Y. (WETM) — Montour Falls is getting a government grant to help its small businesses. According to Congressman Nick Langworthy, the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) awarded the Village of Montour Falls a $50,000 grant. Atlanta Inspector General Report Reveals ‘Pay To Play’ Scheme In Local Government
The former Atlanta employees are being accused of bribery and extortion in a 'pay to play' scheme. The Atlanta Office of Inspector General (OIG) released a new report citing corruption in the Department of City Planning’s Light Commercial Division. Sheaner Magee, Shaniecia Tucker and Angela Epps are accused of soliciting bribes to expedite compliance permits. The women are former City of Atlanta Department of City Buildings Planning (OOB) employees.
