Multiple people injured in shooting at Rockford apartments

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Police said a shooting at the former Concord Commons apartment complex resulted in multiple shooting victims overnight.

According to authorities, the shooting happened around 1:55 a.m. at the Rockford Ridge Apartments, in the 3500 block of Elm Street, during a “large gathering.”

A 29-year-old woman was found in the 200 block of Cameron Avenue suffering from a gunshot wound to her shoulder.

A 27-year-old man was shot in the stomach.

A 20-year-old woman later arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to her hip, and another woman was injured by broken glass.

Authorities said all of the victims are expected to survive.

Investigators found bullet holes in multiple vehicles and a residence at the location.

No arrests or description of a suspect has been announced.

The apartment complex was the scene of earlier shootings this year, on Feburary 14th , and again on April 26th . A 41-year-old man was killed in a shooting at the complex in July 2023.
