ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Residents learn more about clean energy at the “Go Solar 815” conference on Thursday.

The event was hosted by Sustain Rockford, a non-profit promoting clean energy use throughout the region.

There were exhibits on solar products and options, speakers and several local organizations.

Organizers said solar is easy for everyone to use.

“We can do an awful lot on the solar side because, very largely, those are individual decisions,” said Sustain Rockford President Brad Roos. “When you get down to that level of individual action, that empowers people.”

Sustain Rockford is planning a fall campaign to continue to move Rockford towards a goal of fully clean energy by 2050.
