ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — The IceHogs have another goaltender under contract for the 2024-25 season. They’ve re-signed Mitchell Weeks to a two-year AHL contract.

Weeks has spent parts of the last two seasons with the IceHogs splitting them between Rockford and with the ECHL’s Indy Fuel.

Last season with the IceHogs, he appeared in five games posting a 3-2 record and a 2.80 goals-against average. At Indy he was 15-10-6-1 with a 2.75 GAA and an .898 save percentage.

In 2023 with the IceHogs he appeared in 12 games posting a 5-2-3 mark with a 2.72 GAA. IceHogs President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Mark Bernard likes what he’s seen from Weeks. “His attitude and work ethic are fantastic, and he has made great strides in his first two seasons in our organization,” said Bernard in an IceHogs’ news release.

Weeks is 23 years old. He’s originally from Barrie, Ontario.
