    Police: The frequency of traffic citations has increased by 30% in Rockford this year

    ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police released new numbers on the amount of traffic citations issued this year.

    According to their calculations, more traffic citations are being given out compared to last year.

    So far, more than 6,300 citations have been issued compared to around 4,300 at the same time last year. That comes to about a 30% increase.

    Police have also been warning people at a higher rate. Warnings are already at 2,400 issued this year so far.
