ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — GreenPal , an Uber-like app that allows homeowners to find “contactless” lawn care service, is coming to Rockford.

According to the company, homeowners can list their lawn and requested service date; “vetted lawn care pros” can then bid to do the job, and homeowners can select who they want to do the work based on the vendor’s ratings, reviews, and price.

Once the lawn care is done, the vendor will send a time-stamped photo of the completed work. Homeowners then pay via the app.

All of this can be done without the homeowner or the vendor coming face to face.

“After successfully launching in 250 other markets, we are excited to help homeowners in Rockford find reliable, safe, and local lawn care,” said co-founder Gene Caballero.

Nashville-based GreenPal currently operates in Detroit, Charleston, Houston, Los Angeles, San Jose, Orlando, Fresno, Miami, Sacramento, Louisville, Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland, Tampa, Kansas City, Pittsburgh, Denver, Baltimore, Boston, and St. Louis.

GreenPal says its providers must be 18 years of age or older.
