Belvidere police have arrested a 15 year old for allegedly trying to rob a gas station with a knife.

According to a news release issued Friday by the Belvidere Police Department, the 15-year-old boy entered the Citgo gas station at 717 N. State St. shortly before 7:25 a.m. Wednesday, displayed a large knife, threatened the clerk and demanded merchandise.

The boy was not able to steal anything and fled.
