Timberville man gets 25 years for 2022 standoff in Mount Jackson
WOODSTOCK -- A judge sentenced a Rockingham County man on Monday to 25 years in prison for shooting at law enforcement officers during a 2022 standoff. Joshua Ryan Litten appeared in Shenandoah County Circuit Court for sentencing on charges stemming from the more than 18 hour standoff on Dec. 6-7, 2022, in a trailer park in Mount Jackson.
Construction Prices Rise In Virginia
Construction prices in Virginia are rising, and it is tied to an increase in the prices of construction aggregates — things like gravel, crushed stone and concrete. Prices of construction aggregates have risen more than 12 percent in Virginia since before the pandemic and have jumped an average of 15 percent across the country. According to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, prices of all building materials jumped nearly 45 percent during the pandemic. Prices were at their highest in June 2022, but have now fallen slightly.

Virginia's version of town ball was founded in 1924 and is currently celebrating its centennial season. The league's eight teams consist of a mix of current and former college players with ties to the area. Some of the latter have been playing in the league for years.
The case of the Broadway man facing theft-related charges delayed
ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – A court appearance for the Broadway man who is facing a slew of theft-related charges has been delayed for two weeks. Vladimir Petrovich Mazur was scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on Thursday, but according to online records showed that the preliminary hearing for Mazur was continued for a sixth time, until July 24th in Rockingham County General District Court.
