OBITUARY: Carolyn Francis Blackmon Gunner

Carolyn Francis Blackmon Gunner, 85, of Rockingham, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at her home.

She was born Sept. 5, 1938, in Richmond County, daughter of the late Earl Lacy Blackmon and Madie Florence Frye Blackmon.

Carolyn previously worked in textiles. She loved the Lord and loved people. She was a loving, caring lady and showed those qualities. Shopping and going to Biscuitville was part of her daily routine in her later years. She also enjoyed growing plants and she loved her two dogs, Cookie and J.C.

Along with her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward Earl Blackmon, Terrel Wayne Blackmon and Michael Lacy Blackmon; and her sisters, Ruby Mae Edwards, Pearl Joyce McLeod and Audrey Faye Cagle.

Carolyn in survived by her brother, Ronnie Blackmon (Joyce) of Covington, Tennessee; sisters, Betty Jo Stubbs of Seagrove and Jean Sellers (Stan) of Rockingham; numerous nieces and nephews; and caregiver, Judy Alderman.

A service to remember her life will be planned for a later date by the family.
