    Mrs. Jeanelle Mitchell Longshore

Mrs. Jeanelle Mitchell Longshore of Rockmart, Ga, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024.

Jeanelle was born in Rockmart, GA, on July 9, 1938, to the late Sam and Lillian Mitchell.

She was the wife of the late Thomas Marion Longshore. She married Marion in 1956. They were married for over 51 years until his passing in 2007.

Jeanelle was a faithful pastor’s wife alongside Marion for many of those years. She and Marion served and loved many people in many church families during that time. Jeanelle also taught Sunday School, played the piano and sang as part of her ministry.

She worked for Polk School System for 20 years and retired there as a paraprofessional at Euharlee Kindergarten. She also worked in the preschool program at First Baptist Church in Rockmart for several years.

There may have never been a kinder, more thoughtful person than our Mama, Nana, Aunt, Sister, Pastor’s wife and friend. She had a servant’s heart and spirit, always thinking of, helping and loving those around her any way she could.

To the very end, she told pretty much every person she saw, “You’re a blessing.” Oh, what a blessing she was to everyone in her life. She allowed God to use her to share His love until her last breath this side of Heaven.

Jeanelle was also preceded in death by her brothers, Duel and Sammy Mitchell, her sister Floy Hayes, and great-grandson Thomas Swift.

She is survived by her son, Michael Longshore & wife Kitty; son, Scott Longshore & wife Gwenette; daughter, Kristi Longshore Vines & husband Mike; grandchildren, Ashley & Benjamin Ozment, Amelia & Scott Hensley, Morgan & Mason Satterfield, Mariah & Nick Carnazza, Mikayla Longshore, Justin & Nicole Longshore, Laci & Shane Weaver, Christian Longshore, Caleb & Emily Vines, and Luke & Kati Vines; great-grandchildren, Piper, Nash, Maggie, Evie, Madalyn, Zeke, James, Carmen, Colt, Ellie, Ezra, Evie, Bhodi, Ruby, Whitley & Willa Ruth; sister Linda Fay Blackmon, sisters-in-law, Kathleen Lumpkin and Villa Sue Hubbard, and many nieces and nephews.
