Roommates told Rockmart Police that they were scared of a man who used hair clippers to assault one of his fellows, according to reports filed over the weekend.

Officers took Agusto Hernandez-Santiz, 38, of a Rockmart address, on a single charge of felony aggravated assault following the Friday morning incident.

Police noted that Hernandez-Santiz’s roommates were reported that he was making strange statements, but their real fear was the assault that happened around 8:30 a.m. on Friday, July 12.

Hernandez-Santiz admitted the assault happened after he broke through a roommate’s door and after an argument, swing the hair clippers at their head and caused an injury.

Officers took Hernandez-Santiz into custody without further incident.

He was booked into the Polk County Jail on the felony charge on Friday night, and remained there with a $5,000 bond set.
