F.K. Jones Funeral Home expands to Rockmart

Providing service for families beyond the Rome area is the mission of Cedartown native Frank Jones, who has expanded into Polk County after taking over a longtime funeral home location in Rockmart.

Near the end of June, licensing was finalized and F.K. Jones Funeral Home opened its doors to provide funeral services for many families in and around Polk County.

The funeral home’s newest location provides opportunities for Jones to serve families who otherwise would have considered other options due to distance from where their loved ones lived.

“We’ve been providing services for families in the area for a while now, and we’ve been fortunate to do a lot of business in Polk County,” Jones said. “But we have families who inquire about our services in Taylorsville and Paulding County find Rome to be just too far away.”

Now the new location is open in Rockmart, F.K. Jones Funeral Home now can reach those families in need of their services.

“Rockmart hasn’t had a funeral home like ours in a long time,” Jones added.

The new F.K. Jones location in Rockmart came to fruition after the opportunity came up when Freeman Harris Funeral Home on East Elm Street closed after 80+ years in operation. The building remained closed for almost a year, then Jones saw the spot and decided it was time to expand.

He said city officials, Downtown Development Authority and even the Historical Society have been inviting and excited to see his new location open up.

“Everyone in the city has been receptive and warm,” Jones said. “It made our decision easier to bring a new location to Rockmart… We’re proud to have expanded into Rockmart, and we’re blessed to be able to provide our services to any families who need our help during difficult times.”

He said the future is bright for expansion into serving families in and around Polk, Paulding and Bartow counties from the new location.

Jones is working to put together a ribbon cutting later this month after opening in late June.
