    IHSA BOWLING: Hononegah girls sixth in state tourney

    ROCKFORD — Junior Emilee Mullranin averaged 208.5 to finish 12th individually in the IHSA State Bowling Championships and led Hononegah to sixth overall in the team standings.

    In Round 3 on Saturday, Mullranin opened with 176-215-202 for 593 for her first three games. She then rolled 193, 246, 194 for 633 and a 2,502 grand total.

    Teammate Cassidy Davenport shot 203.8 to finish 17th. She shot 193-249-243 for a 685 and then 210-198-190 for 598 and a 2,446 total.

    Hononegah junior Kailyn Davis had a total of 2,301 (577-476) with a high game of 224. She was 44th individually. Freshman Riley Flaningam totaled 2,127 (528-550). Rounding out the Hononegah scorers were senior Piper Ennett (1,852) and freshman Samantha Kallstrom (153).

    Joliet West finished first in the team standings with 12,223 pins, averaging 203.7, followed by Minooka (11,983), Lockport Township (11,732), Collinsville (11,653), Harlem (11,649), Mascoutah (11,433), Hononegah (11,381), Oswego East (11,362), Timely Park (11,190), Salem (11,164), O’Fallon (11,052) and Oswego (11,023).

    The individual state champion was Arianna Araujo, a senior from Palos Hills Stagg, who averaged 219.5 on her way to totalling 2,634 pins. Finishing 37 pins behind her was runnerup Gina Scichowski, a senior from Richmond-Burton, who totalled 2,597 and averaged 216.4.
