ROCKTON—It was an explosion of offense for the Hononegah baseball team as it racked up 15 hits, four of those doubles and one a triple, from 13 different players in a 19-0 rout over Rockford Auburn on Monday.

The Indians scored nine runs in the first and third innings to shorten the game to just four frames and help them stay undefeated in the NIC-10.

Cameron Nelson allowed just one hit and one walk from the Knights (0-12, 0-9) as he struck out nine in the complete-game performance.

Drake Broege smacked a two-run double as he went 2-for-2 from the plate while Evan Sayles hit a pair of RBI doubles. Xavier Huber scored three runs while Landen Seymour, Justin Hodges, Austin Dresser and Sayles each scored twice. Hononegah (15-5, 9-0 NIC-1) also drew eight walks and took advantage of five errors.

    • BIG FOOT 6, STOUGHTON 3: The Chiefs tried to rally after plating three runs in the seventh but it wasn’t enough as four errors and cold bats proved to be their undoing in a non-conference loss to the Vikings.

The hosting Chiefs (3-9) got a base-loaded walk from Connor Weeks in the final inning while Josh Martinez and Konner Glos each scored on wild pitches. Evan Muchka had three hits for Stoughton (5-7).

Will Wojcik and Skylar Jacobs each hit singles for Big Foot, which used three different pitchers. Brady Wojcik went the longest as he pitched four innings and allowed four hits and three earned runs with a strikeout.

    • JEFFERSON 10, CLINTON 0: The Eagles scored eight runs in the fourth and then plated a pair in the sixth to put the mercy rule into effect with a shutout over the Cougars in Rock Valley crossover play.

Collin Gill and Tyler Moe’s singles were the only offensive action from visiting Clinton (5-5, 2-4), which allowed seven walks and six hits. Jefferson (11-2, 7-1) got a pair of hits from Drew Peterson.

Tim Arnold started for the Cougars and allowed seven runs, none earned, on four hits and five walks with a strikeout.

    • BRODHEAD/JUDA 5, DODGEVILLE 4: Gabe Bockhop smacked a walk-off single in the bottom of the eighth to send the Cardinals past the Dodgers in non-conference action on Monday.

Evan Senobe had started with a double to center before Bockhop sent his hit into left field.

Dodgeville (5-8) scored all four of its runs in the first inning before Brodhead/Juda (6-5) slowly chipped away at the lead.

Kohen Sawle scored a runner with his sacrifice fly in the second and a bases-loaded walk by Ryan Searls and a hit-by-pitch by Sam Searls in the next at-bat made it 4-3 in the third.

David Masloske’s RBI double in the fourth tied it up and the two teams stayed knotted up until Bockhop’s winning hit.

Senobe had two hits for the Cardinals, who were outhit 8-7 but drew eight walks.

Sawle pitched four innings and allowed seven hits and four runs (three earned) with four strikeouts while Sam Searls came on in relief and shut down the Dodgers. He allowed just one hit and three walks with three punchouts in the final four frames.

    • NORTH BOONE 6, ROCKFORD CHRISTIAN 5: The top of the order was elite for the Vikings as 1-2 hitters Eli Lopez and Matt Espain combined to go 6-for-8 with three RBI and three runs in a Big Northern Conference win over the Royal Lions.

North Boone (16-8, 7-5 BNC) answered with a pair of runs off Espain's single and Grady Condon's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first after visiting Rockford Christian (3-15, 1-11) plated three.

The Vikings tied it up in the third on Chris Doetch's solo homer to right field and took the lead off Owen Meredith's RBI double in the same frame. Eli Lopez smakced a two-run bomb to center in the fourth before the Royal Lions cut it to 6-5 in the fifth.

But Lopez kept Rockford Christian at bay as he pitched 6 2-3 innings and allowed five runs (three earned) on 10 hits with eight strikeouts. Gage Vermett got the final out.

Noah Carlson paced the Royal Lions with three hits and an RBI while Easton Morehouse added two hits.
