BELOIT — His team may have only played about half the games it was supposed to this summer, thanks to 10 rainouts, but head coach Brad Farrell has seen enough of his Beloit Senior Bandits to believe they’ll do well in the AAA Region 6 tournament they’ll host starting Tuesday at the Stateline Family YMCA Youth Sports Complex. Farrell should be particularly confident in their opener at 5 p.m. The Bandits (6-3) face a rematch with Lake Geneva after crushing them on the road 27-4...

Don’t Fall Victim to the Latest USPS Text Scam Circulating Illinois
We should all know better by now, but I nearly fell victim to a new package delivery text scam the other day, and I don't want the same thing to happen to you. Here's one thing I can guarantee about me; if you call or text me from a number I don't recognize, I will not answer or respond...ever. My notorious call screening usually saves me from phone scammers, BUT, when I have been waiting for over two weeks for Japanese Beetle traps I desperately need to arrive, receiving a text about a delivery issue almost had me falling hook, line, and sinker into the scammer's trap.
