Girls wrestling likely coming to Western
The Western School Board will vote to add girls wrestling as a high school sport at its July 16 meeting. That's according to an FAQ document posted on Western School Corporation's website. The IHSAA will sanction girls wrestling for the first time in the 2024-25 school year. It was considered an emerging sport by the IHSAA in the 2023-24 school year. A Facebook post circulated this week accusing Western of not recognizing the community's wishes for a girls wrestling team.
