ROCKVILLE, Md. ( DC News Now ) — Officials said 40 residents were displaced after a fire broke out at a women’s shelter in Rockville Thursday.

A fan’s motor in a bathroom had caught on fire and traveled into the attic, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service’s spokesperson, Pete Piringer, said. It was caused by an overheated fan motor in the ceiling and attic area.
