Rockville’s outdoor recreation pool getting a new look

ROCKVILLE, Md. ( DC News Now ) — The City of Rockville announced that its local swimming pool is going under renovation and getting a new look.

Starting on Aug. 16, the Rockville Swim and Fitness Center’s recreation pool will close for construction. Officials said the new changes will include improvements to accessibility and modernized amenities that will provide new features and pools for swimmers of all ages and abilities.

This project comes after the mayor and the City Council awarded a bid for the construction and renovation of the pool.

During construction, the City said the outdoor fitness pool, indoor pools and fitness room will remain open.

The project will last through May 2025 and is expected to reopen on Memorial Day weekend.
