New Iowa THC Law Set To Go In Place Today Regarding Potency Levels
(Des Moines, IA) — A new law in Iowa regulating THC in products takes effect today. The law caps the amount of THC allowed per serving and container. It requires products with THC to be labeled with health risk advisories and prohibits individuals under 21 from purchasing such products. The Department of Health and Human Services will establish rules related to packaging and labeling, with guidelines expected to be finalized after the law takes effect.
Grand Junction Fire and Rescue to Host Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser Saturday
A community volunteer fire department in Greene County will be hosting its annual fundraiser meal, following the 4th of July holiday. The Grand Junction Fire and Rescue Departments will be having their Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser on Saturday from 7-10am at the Grand Junction Community Center. The menu includes all you can eat pancakes, along with sausage, scrambled eggs, orange juice, milk and coffee for $5 for adults, $3 for children five to 12 and kids under five years old can eat for free.

Odebolt Man Arrested In Carroll Monday For Attempted Enticement Of A Minor
An Odebolt man was taken into custody last (Monday) night for allegedly traveling to Carroll to engage in sexual activity with a minor. According to a Carroll Police Department affidavit, 44-year-old James Robert Cranston was arrested at approximately 8:37 p.m. in the 100 block of S. Adams Street on a charge of enticing a minor under 16 for sexual purposes, a class D felony. Authorities say the 15-year-old male victim contacted law enforcement because he had been communicating with Cranston via Snapchat, and Cranston had sent multiple sexually explicit images to the victim expressing his intent to have sexual intercourse. Cranston then traveled approximately 40 minutes on Monday evening to meet the victim in Carroll at a pre-arranged location near Southside Park. Cranston was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Carroll County jail, where he remained in custody as of this (Tuesday) morning. A class D felony in Iowa carries a maximum penalty of up to five years in prison and $7,500 in fines.
Sensory Swim to launch at select Des Moines aquatic centers
DES MOINES, Iowa — The Des Moines Parks and Recreation Department is making sure all residents can enjoy a day at the pool. The department is launching a brand-new program at Nahas, Northwest, and Teachout aquatic centers. Sensory Swim provides individuals and families with a calming and relaxing experience. Starting July 7th, from noon until 12:45 on Sundays, you can expect no music and features to be turned off to accommodate attendees.
