A Rocky Mount police probe is continuing into the recent reported theft of a vehicle used by a contract carrier of Telegram newspapers.

Officers at 9:54 p.m. July 9 responded to an address on South Valley Court about the stealing of the car, which is a Honda Accord, police said via email Friday afternoon. South Valley Court is in the Brook Valley mobile homes park in the Little Easonburg area in the western part of the city.

Police in the email said suspects remain unknown.

Anyone with any additional information about this case is asked to call the police department at (252) 972-1411. Tips also can be texted to police at 274637 by beginning messages with RMPOL to direct the tip to the police department.

Subscribers in the Spring Hope and Nashville areas did not receive their Telegram newspapers Wednesday because of what occurred, and readers were asked to view the e-edition on rockymounttelegram.com.

Telegram newspapers are trucked to Rocky Mount from a regional printing plant alongside the offices of sister newspaper The Daily Reflector in Greenville. Employees take care of the bulk of drop-offs of Telegram newspapers to post offices and to stores, while contractors take care of deliveries to post offices and to stores farther away.
