Gunshot victim in critical condition at ECU Health Medical

A gunshot victim was in critical condition at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville after having been found Monday evening in the southeastern part of Rocky Mount, police said in an email Tuesday morning.

Officers responded at 6:52 p.m. Monday to the 700 block of Long Avenue in response to a report of a shooting with injury and found a male had sustained a gunshot wound, police said.

An investigation is continuing. Anyone with any additional information about this case is asked to call the police department at (252) 972-1411 or Crime Stoppers at (252) 977-1111.
