Letter: The lineman from Rocky Mount are amazing

Our neighborhood on Peach Street in Shelby was devastated on the morning of Sept. 27 by Hurricane Helene. We received 4-5 inches of rain the day before, and the ground was soaked.

The wind and sound of falling trees woke us around 5 a.m.

Needless to say, we were without power, and many of my neighbors had trees on their homes for days.

On Oct. 2, we had 5-6 trucks from Rocky Mount Electric working on our street.

We are so very thankful to them for restoring power. They have been in Florida and now Shelby for two weeks helping with needs from the storm.

Thanks for sharing some of your best folks with us.

We appreciate their hard work and sacrifice. I am looking forward to my best night of rest in a week due to them.
