Hull Fareway Hosts Ribbon Cutting
Hull, Iowa – Fareway Stores, Inc. hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday for their much-anticipated new store located at the southwest corner of Highway 18 and Division Street in Hull. The circus is coming to Forest City
The Culpepper and Merri-weather Circus is coming to Forest City, Thursday, Aug. 1, at Heritage Park of North Iowa with shows at 5 and 7:30 p.m. The circus has been providing quality, local, family entertainment for 38 years. This authentic one-ring, big top circus has been featured on television. They are very excited to bring you their brand new performance featuring big cats presented by Trey Key, aerialist extraordinaire Simone on the trapeze, 10th generation Loyal bareback horse riders, the Perez daredevil duo on the tight rope and wheel of destiny, Elizabeth Ayala’s incredible foot juggling and hair hang, and everyone’s favorite circus clown, Leo Acton.
Ackley City Council Discusses Nuisance Violation Rates and Fees
Last week, the Ackley City Council discussed nuisance violation rates and fees. Ackley Mayor, Michael Nuss, informed the council that in speaking with city attorney Seth Schroeder, the city is able to charge and invoice actual costs incurred for nuisance violation fees. When a property owner does not pay for the costs incurred, the city can assess the property owner. The council tabled any action on the matter until next month.

FEMA Disaster Recovery Center in Cherokee
Cherokee, IA (KICD) — Cherokee County will get its very own FEMA Disaster Recovery Center Saturday. The director of efforts here in Northwest Iowa is Tiana Suber, who says the DRC will be located at the former Cherokee County Work Services Building at 322 Lake Street. After it opens Saturday at 1pm, it will be open every day from 8am until 6pm until further notice to help flood victims apply for assistance that might be available to them.

OMAHA, Neb. — Former Nebraska Sen. Ben Sasse announced his resignation as thepresident of the University of Florida System because of his wife's epilepsy diagnosis. Sasse notably vacated his Senate seat in 2023 after being chosen as the University of Florida President. His seat was filled by Pete Ricketts.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska Attorney General Mike Hilgers reached four new settlements this week in a statewide lawsuit against THC retailers. On Thursday, Hilgers announced settlements with Greenhouse Grandma in Chadron, A Botanical Dream in North Platte, First Stop Vape Shop in Ogallala and Zy Glam in Scottsbluff.
