CANAAN ROBERT SWANSON

Canaan Robert Swanson, age 3, son of Carl and Stephanie (Moulton) Swanson, was born July 25, 2020, in Rolla, Missouri. He passed away July 10, 2024, at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

Canaan is preceded in death by his grandparents, Michael S. Moulton Sr., James R. Swanson Sr. and Larry D. Jones.

He is survived by his parents, Carl and Stephanie Swanson of Saint James, Missouri; three brothers, Cael Wantland, Noah Swanson and Liam Swanson of Saint James; one sister Elizabeth Swanson of Saint James; and grandmothers, Joanne Moulton of St. James and Mary Swanson of Bucyrus, Missouri.

Canaan attended Salem Avenue Baptist Church of Rolla. He was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ this year.

Canaan loved playing with dinosaurs, trains and blocks, and watching Bubble Guppies, Bluey and Paw Patrol.

Canaan was a passionate, loving and adventurous boy who loved the ocean. It was the highlight of his day to play and run around outside. Canaan was an amazing son, brother and grandson. He was always willing to give a hug or kiss and enjoyed his full but brief life. Canaan was a hero even in death, as he was an organ donor that helped save several lives. He will be missed, but we know that he is running around in Heaven giving those hugs and kisses.

A visitation for Canaan will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 16 at Evans Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 17 at Evans Funeral Home with Mr. Rick Mosher officiating. Interment will follow at the Swanson Family Cemetery. The pallbearers are Liam Swanson, Noah Swanson, Elizabeth Swanson, Nick Swanson and Cael Wantland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Canaan’s name may be left for the family at Evans Funeral Home. Arrangements entrusted to Evans Funeral Home.
