Monday, July 29 Forecast: Summer sizzler just getting started

    By Jamie Warriner,

    Happy Monday evening!

Summer’s intermission is over as another summer sizzler begins to bake the area. Heat advisories blanket the area and will remain in effect throughout the week. It will be a dangerous combination of heat and humidity with highs in the mid to upper 90s and heat indices that will top 105°.

We won’t see much relief at night either with lows in the mid-70s.

Rain will be tough to come by in this pattern. If we’re going to see it, it will tend to be near and north and east of Rolla as waves of storms spill over the summer ridge.

Rain chances will get a slight boost Thursday into Thursday night as a cold front dives south through the area.

It won’t be much of a heat buster though with highs still topping 90°. The lows will be a little easier to take though as we clear out some of the humidity.
