The Linda Lindas Head to the Circus With ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic in ‘Yo Me Estreso’ Video

The Linda Lindas brought the circus to town in the music video for their latest single, “Yo Me Estreso.” Among the quirky characters that appear in the video — the popcorn-eating audience members, white-faced clowns, and possibly haunted ventriloquist dummies — appears “Weird Al” Yankovic, the accordion-playing man in the rainbow suit. He rocks out with the four-piece band as they pull traditional genres into their own unique blend of sounds.

“‘Yo Me Estreso’ is a song about always being stressed, always being anxious and thinking that people are mad at you when they really aren’t,” Linda Linda’s Bela Salazar shared in a statement. “It was inspired by listening to a lot of corridos tumbados, banda and Duranguense and doing that in our own punk style.”

“Yo Me Estreso” will appear on the Linda Linda’s forthcoming second studio album, No Obligation , out Oct. 11. It accompanies the previously released single “All in My Head,” which also plays around with different characters but does so through a more indie rock lens.

In the lead-up to the album, the Linda Lindas will be completing a run of live shows as they accompany Green Day, The Smashing Pumpkins, and Rancid on the Saviors tour. Their time on the stadium run will be interspersed with headlining performances from the quartet. “When we started the band, it wasn’t the intention to be famous,” Lucia de la Garza told Rolling Stone in 2022. “We liked playing music and performing music and just doing covers of songs we really loved. It was fun.”

The Linda Lindas last shared a full-length record nearly two years ago, when their debut album Growing Up arrived to critical acclaim. “I think you can really tell our voices are different, maybe because we’re all older. And I think our playing is better from practicing and writing so much,” Bela shared. “It’s really cool to hear our progress.”
