Carla Morrison inspired one of Billie Eilish’s favorite songs — and she’s over the moon about it. On Friday, the Mexican singer shared a clip of Eilish revealing that she was inspired to write her song “ Wish You Were Gay ” after listening to Morrison’s standout track “Eres Tú.”

“Don’t ever stop doing what you love most, you never know you are inspiring,” Morrison wrote on Instagram, sharing the clip from Eilish’s interview with Sopitas. “Thank you so much for your beautiful and kind words Billie, they really touched me.”

In the interview, Eilish revealed that she learned to play “Eres Tú” as a kid and would “love to sing it all the time.”

“I love those chords so much and so I remember I would play those songs all the time, and I put them in a different order and I wrote a verse and a chorus of ‘Wish You Were Gay,’ and wrote the rest of the song and changed it and everything,” she said of the track from her debut album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go . “But yeah, I was very inspired by that song.”

Eilish said she “has no idea” how she found Morrison’s “Eres Tú,” but has known it since she was 11 years old. (There’s an old video of Eilish covering the song as a teenager on YouTube.)

“I love that song so much. She’s amazing. She also has a song called ‘Me Encanta,’ which I love,” she said of the Déjenme Llorar track . “I love her voice too. She has such a soft, beautiful, tender voice. She’s amazing. I love her so much.”

Morrison caught up with Rolling Stone ahead of her show at the Hollywood Bowl last summer after she released her album, Renacimiento . “I feel like I came back to music in a very beautiful way,” she said at the time. “I didn’t know if people would still like the type of music I make. It’s been so overwhelmingly positive seeing that people love my songs and most of my shows have been sold out.”
