“Now is the time for me to get what I want,” Kim Deal sings halfway through her new solo single, “A Good Time Pushed.” But the declaration, tied to the beginning and end of a relationship, comes with a caveat: “And when I figure it out, consider it bought.” But the good news is that while she’s figuring out what she wants, she’s having a good time, as she sings on the alt-rock song right before a snaky guitar solo. Filmmaker Mark Satterthwaite, who co-produced the Breeders’ “Live in Big Sur” video , created the visuals for the single.

The song features as the final track of Nobody Loves You More , Deal’s first-ever solo record, due out Nov. 22. The record follows decades of music released with the Breeders, Pixies, and the Amps, as well as a handful of solo singles that date back to 12 years ago.

Deal cut the record with Steve Albini, the late musician and recording engineer who sat behind the boards for Pixies’ Surfer Rosa , as well as recording with the Breeders and the Amps. Breeders members Jim Macpherson and Deal’s sister, Kelley, played on the record, as do members of Teenage Fanclub, Savages, and Raconteurs. Deal has previously released videos for the album’s “Crystal Breath” and “Coast.” Some of the songs originated after Pixies’ 2011 tour, after which Deal had been refining them.

Deal has been busy recently having toured with the Breeders as the opening act for pop star Olivia Rodrigo’s recent Guts tour. “I thought Kim was the coolest girl in the world,” Rodrigo explained in an interview with The New York Times . “I’m very inspired by them and everything they stand for. They are absolutely iconic, and playing these shows with them has been a surreal honor.”
