The Rome Police Department will be placing barricades and directional cones in areas along Riverside Parkway at 9 p.m. Thursday to assist with traffic exiting Ridge Ferry Park after the Patriotic Party in the Park.

No parking is allowed on the shoulders of Riverside Parkway and is allowed in designated lots, only.

To accommodate the smoothest transition of heavy traffic, all cars will be rerouted when the fireworks display begins, so please expect traffic delays.

Depending on where your vehicle is parked, you will be routed in a specific direction. All traffic on the west side of Riverside Parkway will be routed toward Turner McCall Boulevard and all traffic on the east side of Riverside Parkway will be rerouted toward Ga. Loop 1.

The entire roadway will be coned and marked accordingly, and officers will assist in removing all traffic from major parking areas.

No traffic will be allowed onto Riverside Parkway from Turner McCall after the fireworks display; access from Turner McCall will reopen only after eastbound lots have cleared.

Please be patient with traffic, and please be aware of all private lot rules and regulations. We wish you a very happy and safe Independence Day celebration.
