    Diesel Fuel Spill Near Redmond Circle and Garden Lakes Boulevard

    Rome police are asking that motorists avoid the area near the intersection of Redmond Circle and Garden Lakes Boulevard after a wreck between an RV and a dump truck spilled approximately 90 gallons of diesel fuel on the roadway around 10 a.m. on Friday.

    As of 3:45 p.m. those at the scene estimated the cleanup could continue into Friday afternoon.

    "We will stay on the scene and in command until all cleanup efforts are complete," Rome Police Department Public Information Officer Kelly Madden said.

    The Georgia Department of Transportation and Carter's Environmental were called to help clean up the scene and the Rome Fire Department is also assisting the police department.

    Does Rome News Tribune know the difference between a dump truck and a dump trailer? I know Rome News never concerns themselves with reporting honestly and factually, but it would be nice if they actually reported the truth sometimes. The National Enquirer has higher standards and ethics than Rome News Tribune.

    This is ridiculous. Why don’t they divert traffic down Lavender Drive onto Shorter Avenue? That will put the heavy trucks right back onto the truck route where they need to be? 😠🤡Idiots
