2 Face Felony Charges In Bartow Co. Gas Station Robbery

Two Bartow County men face armed robbery charges stemming from an incident early Thursday at the Citgo Service Station, 1204 West Ave. in Cartersville.

Cartersville police were called to the scene early Thursday and witnesses said a man wearing a mask, gloves and hoodie pulled a pistol and demanded money before fleeing in a light-colored passenger car.

Cartersville investigators tracked the vehicle used in the robbery to an apartment complex in Dallas later in the morning. With the assistance of the Dallas Police Department, they arrested Mabery Ron Wilmore as he attempted to leave the apartment complex.

“The Cartersville Police Department wishes to thank the members of the Dallas Police Department for their quick response and assistance in this matter,” CPD Lt. R.D. Albright said in a release.

Through the course of the investigation, police learned that Tyrane Roshaun Hudson was also involved in the robbery. Cartersville investigators, along with members of the Bartow-Cartersville Drug Task Force, arrested Hudson at a residence on Sharps Way in Cartersville. During that arrest, the task force found an undisclosed amount of fentanyl and methamphetamine, Albright confirmed Friday.

Willmore is charged with felony armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Hudson is also charged with felony armed robbery as well as drug trafficking and possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl.

Both men remained at the Bartow County Jail, pending a bond hearing on Friday.
