    North Broad Street Shut Down After Fatal Wreck

    A motorcyclist was killed in a wreck at the intersection of Harvey Street and Calhoun Avenue at North Broad Street Wednesday afternoon.

    The wreck involved a motorcycle and a City of Rome Solid Waste vehicle. Police had not identified the motorcyclist as of Wednesday evening.

    Rome police blocked traffic on North Broad Street and Copeland Street, detouring both inbound and outbound traffic around the area around 4:30 p.m.

    The Georgia State Patrol arrived on the scene to investigate the circumstances of the wreck. No report was available as of Wednesday evening.
