Mentor football preview: Cardinals motivated for 100-year anniversary — 2024 camp tour
MENTOR, Ohio — With a 100-year anniversary of football, Mentor can celebrate it with a quarterback as experience as any to come through the school. Scotty Fox can take some milestone along the way. He needs 3,124 yards passing to overtake Mitchell Trubisky’s career record at the school. A West Virginia commit, Fox threw for 2,275 yards in 10 games last season with 22 touchdowns. This time around, he has four returning starters at receiver and three back on the offensive line. Junior receiver Justen Hodge (872 yards, eight TDs, 46 receptions) leads that group as another Division I college prospect with offers from West Virginia, Purdue and several Mid-American Conference schools. Juniors Landry Brede and JoJo LoDuca are big prospects up front, too, with LoDuca moving from tackle to center this season.
