What Happens If You Put Chopped Garlic In Hot Milk

Hot milk and garlic: it sounds disgusting; I totally get that. However, what it does for your body is amazing!

Garlic will become less acidic and lose some of its sulfur-containing components (strong taste) when soaked in milk. Think about how people soak "fishy" fish or "gamey" game meat in milk to mellow the flavor; this is the same. Adding milk makes it more palatable for your stomach.

How to Make Milk with Garlic

Making garlic milk only requires three things and is super simple.

Milk: Farm-fresh milk is best if you don't have dairy allergies. If not, you can use plant-based milk, such as soy or almond, or milk of your choice.

Garlic: When making homemade garlic milk, use organic, fresh garlic. If the bulb feels hard to the touch rather than squishy when squeezed, you will know it's fresh. Before you chuck them in the milk hot tub, cut or pound the garlic cloves and allow them to sit for ten to fifteen minutes to maximize their release of allicin and enhance its therapeutic effects.

Sweetner: This does taste better sweetened, so find your favorite healthy sugar sweetener. Molasses, stevia, and honey are all great substitutes. Monk fruit sweetner powder will help to balance the recipe's salty and sweet flavors. If you must use sugar, use the raw stuff.

    Ingredients

    • 4 garlic cloves (if using a small variety, use 8 cloves)
    • One and a half cups milk your choice
    • Sweetener according to taste
    • Optional: 1/2 tsp tumeric and a pinch of black pepper

    Directions

    • Cut the garlic cloves roughly or smash them after peeling. Let them sit for ten minutes.
    • Heat the milk in a small pot until it boils softly.
    • Add the garlic.
    • Simmer until the garlic is tender, 7 to 10 minutes.
    • Add your sweetener.
    • Mix, then take off the heat.
    • Pour into a glass and go!

    How to use:

I like to do this once a month, for a week. I drink a half-cup of the garlic milk every day for that week, ideally right before bed, but you can take it at any time of the day. If you're sick with the crud, you can up the dosage to one cup. Take garlic milk three or four times a week if you're a nursing mother to help milk production. Avoid giving it to children without straining, as they can choke on the garlic.

Adults can strain the garlic, but it's best to eat the garlic at the bottom of the glass for the full powerhouse effect.

So there you have it! This sounds disgusting, but it is so good for you! Will you be making garlic milk in the future?
