Unlock Your Joints With Things Found In Your Kitchen
2024-07-14
Joint pain and locked joints can be extremely uncomfortable in all facets of daily living. Flare-ups are the worst! Luckily, you have herbs in your kitchen that can help loosen up your joints. They work especially well when made into an infusion and used as a warm or cold compress.
Herbal medicines not only address the underlying cause of joint locking but also provide pain relief. They can aid in reducing inflammation, which may worsen locking, spasms, or flare-ups.
Ingredients That Fight Inflammation
There are many natural medicines that have the ability to alleviate pain, inflammation, and muscle spasms associated with osteoarthritis, locked joints, and even gout.
Ginger
Ginger relieves joint pain in a way that is comparable to that of popular NSAIDs. Like over-the-counter drugs, it accomplishes this by blocking COX-2 enzymes, which are responsible for pain and inflammation.
Cinnamon
In addition, the antispasmodic properties of ginger and cinnamon together prevent pseudo-locking of joints by relaxing muscle spasms.
Chamomile
Apart from its anti-inflammatory properties, chamomile also eases muscle spasms, accelerates the healing of wounds, and promotes sound sleep.
When your joints become stuck, you can get relief by using a warm or cold compress infused with this recipe.
Ingredients:
4–6 cups of water
An empty tea bag (cheesecloth can be used to make your own)
A towel as a compress
Two teaspoons of freshly grated or chopped ginger
One teaspoon of cinnamon powder
One teaspoon dried chamomile (two teaspoons of fresh chamomile, roughly chopped).
Directions:
Boil the water and take it off the heat.
Put the herbs in a cheesecloth or tea bag and tie it.
Give your herbs ten to fifteen minutes to steep in the water.
Let it cool to your desired temperature.
Soak your towel/compress in the infusion.
Press the compress on your soreness for about fifteen minutes, or until the soreness begins to go away. You can place a dry cloth over the top of the region to trap the heat while using a warm compress.
You can store it in the refrigerator and utilize it within 48 hours if you'd like.
You can also drink this infusion as a tea if you like the taste of ginger, cinnamon, and chamomile together!
You can also add:
Pineapple, either fresh or dried: Pineapple has strong anti-inflammatory properties and is frequently suggested as a way to lessen inflammation during flare-ups of gout.
Tumeric: Curcumin, the active component of turmeric, is an anti-inflammatory.
Cayenne: Capsaicin, cayenne, has been used in herbal medicine for a very long time. It is frequently advised for those with osteoarthritis, muscular spasms, and joint discomfort in order to lessen pain and inflammation.
