    Elm City Feels the Heat of Wilson County's Revaluation

    As residents of Wilson County have been checking their mailboxes lately, they have been met with quite an unexpected surprise; An increase in their property taxes! Elm City for years has allowed Wilson, NC to collect its taxes, of which many residents may or may not have been aware of. Amongst other utilities that the town of Elm City outsources; Duke Energy is one.

    According to Wilson's eight year cycle and their posted county website info., (wilsoncountync.gov) The following statement is shared, " "For the 2024 revaluation, this is the first time that we have reappraised properties in Wilson since 2016. NC laws require all counties to reappraise all real properties once every 8 years."
