A family of three need your help! Nate Barnes, Lakesha Taylor, and their 24 year old special needs daughter Millenium, have been misplaced since early morning September 4, 2024.

All that is left of 609 S. Parker St. Elm City, is fond memories and a shell of what used to be. According to a personal interview with Tammie Atkinson (Mayor Pro-tem of Elm City, NC), it was the sound of sirens that caused her to get up out of her bed, and make her way to the devastating scene.

With over one dozen first responders present, Millenium (special needs child) had to be pulled safely from a window according The Town of Elm City's facebook page (posted Sept. 8, 2024). Miss Atkinson claims that in the midst of this total loss, there was found a Bible; virtually untouched in the ashes.

According to the Town's facebook post, Elm City's Office will be a drop off location for clothing and shoe donations for this family. Office hours are Monday-Friday from 8:30am- 5:30 pm and their phone number is 252-236-4917.
