Explore the World Through Books: Mayor Launches 'Reading With Mayor Moore' at Elm City's Train Depot

On September 23, 2024 from 4pm-5pm, the Town of Elm City welcomes a segment "Reading With Mayor Moore" which will include all ages. Two of the greatest ways to explore the world is to take vacations and read a good book.

Two quotes from the classic author Dr. Seuss, still remind us today of the invisible legs that words in a book have; “Reading can take you places you have never been before", and "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”

Mayor Tawanda Moore of Elm City, NC is excited about beginning her "Reading With Mayor Moore" series at Elm City's Train Depot Building. The Honorable Mayor Moore shared her personal love for reading stating, "My mother impressed upon us at a very young age, the importance of reading".

Mayor Moore also shared that as often as she gets an opportunity to share a great read with young people, she tries to follow the trail that leads to their reading circle.
