Why WA school budgets are getting tighter, and what can be done about it
Talk about a thankless job. In Washington state, school district budgeting has suddenly become much more difficult. After more than a decade of strong revenue growth, districts are facing deficits. Between the 100 piece order of chicken and the pot luck items provided, it was a meal enjoyed by all, from the nonagenarian couple all the way down to their diapered great- grandson. The meal was topped off by the famous cream puffs made by Sonja Kruse. While the temperature was in the eighties, it was comfortably modulated by the shade of a large maple tree and a gentle breeze from across the bordering river.
