ABILENE, Texas ( BCH Sports ) – Expectations are high for Roscoe High Football, a team that made the regional semifinals last season.

It’s also a big youth movement for the Plowboys, led by new starting quarterback Junior Jace Arnwine.

While many prominent young players are taking the next leap, they’ll also be sure to lean on All-State running back Ivan McCann.

The senior ran for 1,371 yards and 13 touchdowns last season, and he is one of many seniors that will look to lead this team as they look to bring Roscoe its first ever state title.

Roscoe High Head Football Coach Jake Freeman said, “First of all, we’ve got some leadership this year that I’m really excited about. They are guys that have played a lot of football and won a lot of football games. That type of leadership is invaluable to a team. It’s been a great off season. We got bigger and faster and stronger which we always want to do.”

Roscoe’s quest to a state title will begin on August 30th at Hawley High.
