Voters have four candidates to consider for next probate judge
GAYLORD — Voters in the Aug. 6 primary will select one of four candidates to become the next probate judge in the 46th Circuit Court for Otsego County. The current judge, Michael Cooper, who has served since being appointed by Gov. John Engler in 2000, is retiring. Courtney Cadotte, David Delaney, Kevin Hesselink and Paul Slough are running to replace Cooper.

ATV driver killed in crash, deputies believe alcohol and speed were factors
ROSCOMMON COUNTY — Around 5 a.m. Monday morning, Roscommon County Central Dispatch got a call about a person lying in a ditch. Deputies arrived at the scene on Old 27 near Myrtle Avenue in Lyon Township to find an ATV had crashed sometime overnight. They said the driver, Kevin Lee Barnes from Higgins Lake, was heading north on Old 27 when he hit something on the shoulder. The ATV went into the ditch, hit a tree and Barnes was thrown off. Barnes was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies said they believe alcohol and speed were a factor.

Meijer mPerks point theft: Michigan man pleads guilty to selling shoppers' logins
GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (FOX 2) - A Michigan man pleaded guilty Monday after he was caught selling Meijer customers' mPerks account information. Nicholas Mui, 22, of Grand Haven, pleaded guilty to one count of conducting a criminal enterprise. As part of his plea, Mui will forfeit his computer tower and approximately $630,000 in frozen cryptocurrency and cash.

Michigan’s Paul Juda was on the fringe entering the United States men’s gymnastics Olympic trials June 27 and 29 in Minneapolis. The Deerfield, Illinois native picked a good time to have the meet of his life. He accomplished what he set out to do during the two-day event with zero falls and hitting all his routines. Juda finished fourth in the all-round and top-five in four events: floor (second), pommel horse (third), vault (fourth), and high bar (fifth).
