Inmate dies at Sacramento County Main Jail
SACRAMENTO, California — A 40-year-old inmate was pronounced dead at the Sacramento County Main Jail on Friday after deputies found him unresponsive in his cell. At approximately 11:15 a.m., Main Jail Deputies responded to a cell in the 300 pod of 8-East regarding two unresponsive male inmates, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office. Both inmates were removed from the cell, and deputies immediately began administering first aid. Narcan was administered multiple times to both inmates as staff continued first aid until Fire Department personnel arrived.
