SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A structure fire was reported on Dry Creek Road in Del Paso Heights Sunday evening. It was reported near Grand Avenue at 5:54 p.m. Emergency crews are responding to the scene. No injuries have been reported at this time. It is unclear what caused the fire.

Sacramento firefighters rescue deer swimming in canal near Mather
SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. — Firefighters orchestrated the water rescue of a deer Sunday morning in Sacramento County. Crews were able to safely catch a deer swimming in the canal, bring it ashore and place it in the care of Sacramento County Animal Care Services, the fire district said. The call was completed just before 11:30 a.m.

In her sixth successful ride, Jeanette Mero can finally claim the most coveted title in endurance riding: the Tevis Cup. The Mariposa, CA native completed her 100-mile journey to Auburn's McCann Stadium at 10:05 p.m. Saturday night to win the 68th Tevis Cup, finishing with a final time of 17 hours and five minutes.
