A Quad-City martial artist is taking on the fight of his life: cancer. John Morrow, owner of Morrow’s Academy of Martial Arts in Moline, has had a long career of. fighting and giving. Morrow was recently diagnosed with stage four lung cancer, but it hasn’t stopped the 72-year-old from doing what he loves, instructing martial arts and fundraising for charity. Morrow has raised thousands over the years by performing great physical feats, and he’s planning to do even more fundraising despite his cancer diagnosis.

Vernon County Sheriff reports motorcyclist dies of injuries in State Highway 35 crash
GENOA, Wis. – Vernon County Sheriff Roy Torgerson reports a motorcycle crash that occurred on Sunday, June 23, at approximately 10:00 a.m, in the town of Bergen. According to the Sheriff’s report 39-year-old Johnathon Lee Tomlinson, of Galesburg, Ill. was driving his motorcycle south on State Highway 35, near Spring Coulee Road in rural Genoa/Stoddard and lost control. Tomlinson was ejected and sustained serious injuries. He was transported to Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, Wis. by Gundersen Tri-State Ambulance.

Iowa City woman charged with OWI and Child Endangerment
An Iowa City woman faces possible prison time after being charged with her 3rd OWI and a count of Child Endangerment. Police say the incident occurred Sunday evening. According to the arrest report, 40-year-old Heather Zaehringer of East Court Street got in to an argument with her spouse. The spouse and the spouse’s brother left the residence, and Zaehringer reportedly followed them in another vehicle, accompanied by her five year old daughter.
