Patriots safety Jabrill Peppers already impressed by newest roster addition
New England Patriots safety Jabril Peppers is excited about the addition of Jaylinn Hawkins. Hawkins was signed by the organization back in March in hopes of adding more veteran safety depth to an already-loaded position. He most recently played with the Los Angeles Chargers, where he recorded 14 tackles and a pass deflection last season. Now, he joins a Patriots safety group that’s expected to be one of the best in the NFL. Peppers factors heavily into the equation considering he’s formed quite the one-two punch at the top of the depth chart, next to Kyle Dugger. He is pleased with what he’s...
You May Be Breaking Some of These Massachusetts Laws Without Knowing It
Massachusetts seems to have a law for everything and while it makes sense for some things others are just strange. As we all know the 4th of July recently passed and Massachusetts is the only state that has a law against consumer fireworks including buying, selling, and using. Some folks agree with this law while others think it's complete nonsense. In addition, this law doesn't seem to be enforced in Massachusetts at least not in my area. So, why even have the law if it's not being enforced? Either way, the law is the law.

Gov. Healey signs ghost gun law, says it ‘will save lives’
Two years after a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that she said posed “a grave danger to Americans as they go about their daily lives in public spaces,” Gov. Maura Healey on Thursday signed an overhaul of state firearms laws that lawmakers said will keep Massachusetts at the forefront of gun safety laws. The bill (H 4885) passed the House and Senate last week after months of closed-door talks between the branches. A handful of Democrats joined all Republicans in opposition to the final version of the bill. Healey signed the bill in full, approving new strategies for combating so-called ghost guns, expanding the law that allows a court to take guns away from someone considered a threat to themselves or others, and adding schools, polling places and government buildings to the list of areas where state law forbids people from carrying firearms. This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available. Download the FREE Boston 25 News app for breaking news alerts.
