On Sale @ MGM Music Hall at Fenway: Kehlani, Sarah McLachlan, and more
With all the distracted talk of “happy hour” returning to Massachusetts, Kehlani is busy out here delivering the late-night “After Hours” vibes we really need. The Bay Area R&B artist brings her Crash World tour to Boston’s MGM Music Hall at Fenway on September 17, with FLO and Anycia on board, riding high on their new album of the same name and thumping May single, which scored Kehlani a Top 5 hit on Billboard’s Rhythmic Airplay chart. June’s Crash, which features Jill Scott, Young Miko and Omah Lay, did even better; peaking at Number 2 on Billboard’s Top R&B albums chart. “For a long time, I’ve been not afraid of how I’ve been perceived musically, but I had a lot of being very apologetic in my personhood, for who I am, for anything I’ve done, for anything I had to be corrected on for any way I’ve shown up in the world,” Kehlani tells Essence. “In this album specifically, I am just gonna talk and not hold back. I’m going to talk as if I was talking to my very best friend.” That’s us. We’re all the BFF. Tickets go on sale on Friday (July 26) at 10 a.m. local time.
