Town Extends Pool Hours, Makes Cooling Centers Available as Temperatures Climb
With hot and oppressive temperatures impacting our area, Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino announced that all Town pools will remain open until 8pm today through Friday, July 19th, giving residents the opportunity to beat the heat. All five Town pools, including Bethpage Community Park, Marjorie Post Community Park, Plainview-Old Bethpage Community Park, Syosset-Woodbury Community Park, and the saltwater pool at Tappen Beach in Glenwood Landing, will stay open 11am to 8pm from Tuesday, July 16th, through Friday, July 19th.

To increase convenience for residents, Oyster Bay Town Clerk Richard LaMarca will host a special Marriage License Weekend on Saturday, July 27th, and Sunday, July 28th, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Oyster Bay Town Halls North and South. Three people suffered minor injuries following a residential fire in Bedford Park on Monday evening, FDNY officials said. Fire department officials said they were alerted on Monday, July 15, at 7.36 p.m. for a report of a fire at 2767 Creston Avenue between East 196th Street and East 197th Street.
